Richard and Dianne Marquis are the owners of Real Value Travel, which is a division of Richard G. Marquis & Associates, Inc. Richard and Dianne have lived in Liberty for 20 years. They have three grown children and four great grandchildren. They attend church at Eastside church of Christ in Baytown, Texas.
Richard worked in the oilfield service industry for fifteen years then sold computers to corporate accounts for a couple of years before becoming a commercial appraiser with Scott Stephens & Associates, Inc. in 1993. In 2002 Richard opened his own appraisal shop in Liberty and primarily appraises residential properties. Dianne has worked in the medical field as a medical technologist for over forty years. We made the decision in 2007 to start a Home Based Travel Business. We joined OSSN, CLIA and NACTA which provides ongoing training for home based travel agents. We studied several Host Travel Agencies and became associated with IT Travel Group out of Houston, Texas, which provides us a wide varity of travel options and pricing for our clients.
Our jobs allowed little time for vacations, therefore, we just got used to working all the time. A few years ago we were so stressed out that we decided to take a trip. The trip was a road trip to Colorado, we really enjoyed the trip, but we were more tired when we got back, than we were before we left. We took another trip to Colorado, but this time, by air. We stayed with friends and traveled by car from place to place, but were much more rested when we returned. We thought about cruising several times, but my time offshore didn't excite me about looking at the sea all day. Finally, we decided to go on a short cruise, and we were hooked. Then we went on a longer cruise and were having so much fun, we decided to encourage others to reduce the stress in their life's and travel.
We are excited about travel and understand that folks just like you need recreation (we need to re create our self's) from the stress of jobs. We encourage you to set aside some time to plan on enjoying yourself by traveling more than you have in the past. When you do, we hope you will choose us to help you plan your travel needs.
